There always seems to be a “black hole” in the patient account world. It seems no matter what method we try there is at least one bunch of accounts that gets lost. I’ve often wondered if we performed an analysis of our receivables daily, if we could identify the accounts that have the “get lost in the black hole potential” would our lives be easier? It can’t be the $50 bill for the specimen sent in from the Physicians Office. It will be the $20k account that happens to be the account of some best friend of the CEO.
